Job Title: Manager, Housekeeping Location: The Trade International Hotel Department: Housekeeping Reports To: General Manager Job Overview: The Trade International Hotel is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping team in delivering exceptional cleanliness and service to our guests. This role requires a strong leader who can manage daily housekeeping operations while ensuring guest satisfaction, adherence to cleanliness standards, and efficient use of resources. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Supervision: Lead and oversee the entire housekeeping department, including housekeeping staff, laundry attendants, and room attendants. Schedule, train, and manage a team to ensure optimal performance and coverage. Quality Control: Ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are consistently clean, well-maintained, and meet the highest standards of cleanliness. Conduct routine inspections of rooms and common areas to ensure quality and efficiency. Team Development: Train and mentor housekeeping staff in cleaning techniques, safety standards, and customer service to ensure the highest level of performance. Foster a positive and motivating work environment. Inventory and Budget Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment. Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising service quality. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that the housekeeping department complies with all health and safety regulations, including fire safety, hazardous materials handling, and COVID-19 protocols. Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments (such as Front Office, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage) to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Coordinate with the maintenance team on repair and maintenance issues. Guest Satisfaction: Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Take proactive steps to enhance the guest experience and ensure housekeeping services exceed guest expectations. Sustainability Initiatives: Implement environmentally sustainable practices in the housekeeping operations, such as waste reduction, recycling programs, and energy-efficient cleaning methods. Reporting: Prepare and present reports to the General Manager on department performance, inventory needs, budget status, and any issues related to guest satisfaction or housekeeping operations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in housekeeping or hospitality management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with housekeeping procedures, equipment, and inventory control. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Proficient in housekeeping management software and MS Office applications. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Preferred Skills: Experience in luxury hotel housekeeping management. Familiarity with sustainability and eco-friendly housekeeping practices. Ability to speak multiple languages is an advantage. Working Conditions: Full-time, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations. Physical demands include standing for long periods, walking, bending, and lifting light to moderate loads.
